My family has always been in the restaurant industry. Growing up in Melbourne, I spent a lot of time at my parent’s Chinese restaurant in town, helping out and doing menial tasks when I could. Restaurants have always been like a second home to me.

The idea of Umami Restaurant and Sushi Bar was conceived when I was working in Orlando as an executive chef. As I learned invaluable skills from my mentors over the years, I started to consider moving to New York or Los Angeles to explore new opportunities.
